Barcaldine Pharmacy is proud to provide the 2023 Flu vaccine to our everyone living and visiting our community. This year marks the first time we can provide government subsidised (NIP) flu vaccine to eligible patient groups!

NIP Funded Vaccinations

For the first time Barcaldine Pharmacy is excited to announce the availability of government subsidised adjuvanted quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine for patients in the following groups: 

• children aged 6 months to less than 5 years
• all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
• people aged 6 months and over with certain medical conditions that increase their chance of severe influenza and its complications
• pregnant women (at any stage during pregnancy)
• people aged 65 years and over.

This vaccination is the same vaccination offered at hospitals and medical centres in previous years. Under the National Immunisation Program the flu vaccine itself is provided by the Commonwealth, however a $5 service fee will be charged to cover the cost of administration.

Private Flu Vaccinations

The 2023 flu vaccination for those under 65 years of age are still available from Troy our vaccination accredited pharmacist for those 5 years and older. The 2023 Flu vaccination does include a $20.00 service fee which covers both the vaccine itself and its administration and consult fees.
